Arrived uneventfully in Billings, MT Monday night around 10 pm local time, picked up our car (Nissan Altima), and headed for the hotel. By the time we left the hotel Tuesday morning it was drizzling and about 35°. After hitting the local Wal-Mart we headed toward the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, the site of Custer's last stand. By the time we arrived it was only about 32° and raining steadily. Still, we were here so we did the auto trail and walked a few of the important sites. It's a neat place and we're glad we visited even though we were wet and very cold for our efforts.
On the way to Gillette, WY the rain began changing to wet snow, at times quite heavy. We arrived at the hotel around 5 pm and found a Chinese place across from the hotel. While eating it began snowing very heavily and our car windows were completely covered with white stuff when we came out. Back to the warmth of the hotel where we traversed all three floors several times for our nightly walk. It's supposed to get down to the mid-20's tonight and is still snowing.
Wednesday we're set to visit Devil's Tower (weather permitting) and then travel to Deadwood and Spearfish, SD.
